Starting with Energy

Hello World, Welcome!

My name is Óscar and I am starting this blog for sharing with you my work in ICT and classroom dynamics for CLIC, which is a subject of the "Capacitación en Inglés" course.

I am a mining and energy resources engineer that started to work in the field of teaching one year ago. Before that, I was developing energy efficiency research projects with some European organizations, and now I would like to share with you the most interesting facts I discovered. As I started learning English when I was a child and because I have lived in different countries where I could practise it, I could reach C1 certification last year

Due to my job and because I am a Millenial as well, I am used to computers, the Internet and other gadgets of this century. Nevertheless, I don't use social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but I believe that Blogs and forums are really useful tools for spreading knowledge peer-to-peer. This is the main reason I choose this course was because I tried other online courses before and I felt they were an efficient way to learn.

I hope you can as well discover some interesting information with my blog. So please come on, the door is open!

Task 5: Redefining learning and teaching using technology

Hi there! Today I would like to show you this video of  Jason, a student passionate about ICT use in education working with Microsoft to promote the use of technology in the classroom. Nowadays, technology is part of a big variety of aspects in our daily life, and children are more get used to it than children of the past. That´s why I choose this video because I feel the student perspective is really important to take into account the teaching strategies in this day and age. Jason, expose that if the technology is part of our life and have transformed it, why don't use it to boost the learning process. His arguments show that students must be an active part of the lessons and ICT have a key role here. Especially, show how a motivated student could learn better. Hope you enjoy it. Jason’s speech
