TASK 6.1 and 6.2 Is padlet a good resource for students?

Padlet is a really easy-to-use tool. Do you know it?

Padlet can be used both by students and teachers. This tool allows you to create an online post-it board that you can share with anybody just giving them the link. With Padlet you can insert ideas anonymously or with your name. Is very intuitive. For further information, you can explore its possibilities  here

From my point of view, there are different resources of Padlet that can be useful when it comes to organizing the classroom activities. I could spend hours speaking about the different options to organize the classroom daily life, but I would like to highlight the following:

  • Brainstorming: As I love collaborative work, with this tool you will be able to gather ideas from the different students. One example of using this could be the following: Give statement students have to discuss or a project about which students have to brainstorm. Share the board and let students share their ideas and comments. This way, every student can see what others think. You can discuss a few of the given answers with the whole class.
  • Thinking maps: I feel this way for organizing the idea is really effective. Using a Padlet wall for students to create various thinking maps or mind maps could be really effective for their learning. You can upload a custom background to help them with the layout and they can start adding Post-it notes to a flow map, treemap, or even a circle map format

In order to clarify the use of Padlet with an example, I have created this one. Enjoy it!

Task 5: Redefining learning and teaching using technology

Hi there! Today I would like to show you this video of  Jason, a student passionate about ICT use in education working with Microsoft to promote the use of technology in the classroom. Nowadays, technology is part of a big variety of aspects in our daily life, and children are more get used to it than children of the past. That´s why I choose this video because I feel the student perspective is really important to take into account the teaching strategies in this day and age. Jason, expose that if the technology is part of our life and have transformed it, why don't use it to boost the learning process. His arguments show that students must be an active part of the lessons and ICT have a key role here. Especially, show how a motivated student could learn better. Hope you enjoy it. Jason’s speech
